PROGRAMME
The anniversary edition of the festival is the biggest Blues event in Copenhagen ever,
and the line-up is a worthy tribute to the Blues, looking back on tradition, and looking
to the future as well. Among the international acts are:
Walter Wolfman Washington & The Roadmasters with his funky New Orleans blues,
Zakiya Hooker, the daughter of blues icon John Lee Hookers, a whole parade
of great guitar players: Walter Trout, Omar Dykes, Popa Chubby, Memo Gonzales,
the two Paris based African musicians Amar Sundy and Roland Tchakounte,
world famous gospel star Lillian Boutté from New Orleans, California's Nathan
James, and not least, Canadian JW Jones, here in partnership with Little Charlie Baty,
former frontman of Little Charlie & The Nightcats.
As always, Copenhagen Blues Festival makes a special effort on behalf of the Danish
blues scene. This year's festival presents a whole army of great, Danish blues men
and women, for instance Mamas Blues Joint, Cph Slim, The Young Comets,
The Healers, Risager & Balsgaard, Secondhand Bluesband, The Fried Okra,
Peter Brander Band, Lars Hybel, H.P. Lange & Delta Connection, Ladies Sing
the Blues, Dale Smith Blues Band, René Evald & Poor Folks, Lea Thorlann
& the Spicey Gang, Troels Jensen and many more.

The festival’s collaboration with Roedovre Centrum
continues, this year with 8 short, free afternoon

entrance from ½ hour before the concert at 3 pm, or
make your reservations using the festival’s e-mail:

Another Sunday church event is the Blues sermon at Grundtvig Church on the theme
'The Healing Power of the Blues', and a concert with Troels Jensen, H.P. Lange and
Huge Rasmussen.
More Sunday Blues - blues brunch at Qualityworld with the Swedish roots duo
Grahn & Malm, and as always, the traditional acoustic Roots'n'Blues Jam at
Mojo to end the blues fest 2010.
Over the years Copenhagen Blues Festival has tried to present the Blues at it's best, in all styles, shapes and forms,
with a good blend of acoustic and electric blues, of seasoned, traditional artists and young, talented newcomers.
Looking back at the first 10 years, some special, memorable festival moments stand out:
John Hammond, Magic Slim, Otis Grand, Bobby Rush, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, last year's great Chicago theme
with Mud Morganfield, Eddie Clearwater, Deitra Farr and Jimmy Johnson, and many others.
We hope to create many more memorable blues moments over the next 10 years !
Enjoy the anniversary !
